Germany: Apple Crisp

This is another recipe introduced to me by my German friend Dustin. It's kind of like heaven on a plate.
Serves 8

Ingredients:
4-5 apples, sliced
2 sticks butter
1 cup oats
1 cup brown sugar

Step 1: Arrange apple slices in a baking dish.
Step 2: Meanwhile, melt butter in a small saucepan. Stir in oats and sugar.
Step 3: Pour mixture over the apples.
Step 4: Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes, or until oats start to brown.

Let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.

I like to make vanilla cinnamon whipped cream and put a dollop on top of each slice. Also try eating with vanilla ice cream, or drizzled with heavy cream.
